?Department of Social Science

  Department of Social Science (hereinafter referred to as DSS) is one of the three academic departments of NAEA. Its predecessor was Department of Marxist Theory, which was set up when NAEA was reopened in 1981 and has been a key unit for training, teaching and research. There are 12 faculty and staff member among which 2 professors, 8 associate professor, 1 lecturer and 1 administrative secretary. 10 of 12 hold doctor degree and 1 is completing his doctor degree.

  DSS has three major responsibilities. First is to organize training programs for higher education, basic education and pre-school education administrators and core faculty on ideological and political theory study from higher education institutions. Second is to offer lectures and do research on topics of Marxism theory, Mao Zedong Though, Socialist theory system with Chinese characteristics, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Party construction, education policy and law, education administration and management, and leadership etc. Third is to investigate and work out report playing policy consultation role based NAEA’s nature of educational leaders development institute, and strengthen function of brain tank to MOE. All the work by DSS is in line with NAEA’s core mission and development.

  Over the past 30 years and more DSS completed each and every training program it organized with good reputation. Lectures given by DSS faculty, situational instruction method and small size participatory courses are well accepted by participants. DSS faculty has chaired and taken part in several national key research project, National Social Science Foundation project and NAEA level research project, and has edited relevant teaching and learning reference materials for training purposes.

  The major programs DSS undertake include those respectively for leaders of higher education institution, middle age administrators of high education institution, core faculty on ideological and political theory course of higher education institution, MOE Party School participants, training of trainers for educational administrators at national level, pre-school education managers, MOE workshop participants and all other training entrusted by local education authorities of different level and types.
